Alessandra Amaral is the new executive director of ADELAT

Alessandra Amaral was elected as the new executive director of the Association of Latin American Electric Energy Distributors by the General Assembly of Associates after the process carried out by a Committee of Experts created especially to evaluate the candidates.

Amaral has more than 30 years of experience in mining, public services and consumer goods. In addition, she is a leader in the P & L sector with a diversified career that spans from the private to the public sector, in companies of various sizes.

During the last 20 years she worked in the energy industry, being responsible for directing business units in the Generation and Marketing of electrical energy. In the distribution sector, she was responsible for market planning and energy purchasing at Energisa and Light, where her last position was vice president of Generation, Marketing, New Business and Regulatory Affairs.

On the other hand, during his professional career he occupied various institutional spaces in organizations such as ABRACEEL (Brazilian Association of Energy Traders), ABRADEE (Brazilian Association of Electrical Energy Distributors), APINE (Brazilian Association of Independent Generators), ONS (Brazilian Operating System) and Norte Energia.

“At this stage of my professional career, joining ADELAT is a recognition and an enormous challenge. We have ahead of us to continue building knowledge to promote the energy transition at the regional level and value the role of electricity distributors as leading actors in a new paradigm”, said Amaral.

For his part, the president of ADELAT, David Felipe Acosta Correa, highlighted: “We are very excited about the arrival of Alessandra to our Association and we trust that our shared vision will continue to be built day by day, based on charisma, commitment and broad experience that we have identified in it”.
